SERVICE AND REPAIRS OF OIL COOLERS:
Hi-tech radiators are renown through out Australia for being at the top of
there field for repair and servicing as well as aftermarket replacement for all
types of oil coolers ranging from motorbike oil coolers to the largest industrial
and mining oil coolers. Over the past 5 years, Hi-tech radiators have investing
heavily into diagnostic equipment and cleaning gear to service the large of oil
coolers weather it's from marine, earthmoving, mining. trucks.
|
 |
We also have a hot static pressure
tester which will simulate the same as operating in a machine under pressure and
temperate to help find these difficult leaks. The reason we built this machine
is we very often receive oil coolers that are said to be leaking and when tested
to its operating pressure or spike pressure with nitrogen or compressor air submerged
in a test tub in cold water
The
material wont expand to its normal operating state there for not show us where
its leaking from .Hi-tech's welding equipment is also that of the best you can
buy to do the desired job weather it's a steel/stainless/alloy oil cooler, wehave
the gear to do the job from .2mm thick walled tube to as thick as 20mm thick
walled billeted alloy tanks. |
 |
This is used for internally inspecting
blockage down tubes and for any foreign material that may be restricting oil flow
or could cause damage to hydraulics or enginecomponents with loose metal filings.
A static pressure test machine which is state of the art pressure testing
equipment that also doubles as flow rate meter. Just to name some equipment
Hi-tech use on oil coolers are a borascope as shown. |
 |
Hi-tech radiators even have the capability
of welding on site when required on emergency situations just to keep the machine
going to such time we can order you in a new core or complete unit. Hi-tech
radiators are also the only company in the radiator and heat exchange sectorthat
has a ULTRASONIC CLEANER which is state of the art cleaning equipment for all
heat exchanges is capable of cleaning units up to 2.2metres x 2 meters being the
largest of its kind in Australia with internal cleaning process that has flow
rates and 2 stage micron filter that can catch all size foreign material and brig
back the internals like near new status. |

|
Another repair Hi-tech radiator commonly
does using epoxy glue on those hard to get at locations where welder can't get
at. This is done using a 2 part epoxy that holds pressure up to 500psi and temperate
of 190 degrees. This is used normally between tubes, at tube to header joins and
sets under temperate. This can also be vacuumed sucked in the cooler to find leaks,
this process is used to keep the machine operating until we can manufacture a
new complete unit. Hi-tech radiator
has an extensive range of oil coolers in stock as well as on file ready to manufacture
you a new one without pulling out you're current unit. We can manufacture anything
to suit you're machine and repair it or customize for a total different application.

To cut off aluminum billeted tanks off
oil cooler style cores is quite difficult and require attention to detail to get
an expert straight level cut to be able to weld bank onto a new or exciting core
with out having rough cutting marks into tanks and uneven grinding marks. |
 |
This causing difficulty in welding the
tank bank onto the core the core or weak points where the weld penetration is
not straight or even between core & tank. |

| Another
fault of these particular coolers are cracked welds ,when this happens you find
it's the lack off penetration between core and tank ,also uneven welding normally
caused when core & tank don't sit exactly straight .so what we do isremove
both tanks re prep surfaces & clean through ULTRASONIC cleaner andthen reweld
with our new pulse wave mig than can penetrate perfect into the material and keep
the same programmed frequery welding pattern, temperate weld allaing for
excellent weld presentation ,even penetration. Very
rarely but it does happen is when hydraulics lines blow out and leaving lining
in the tanks from the skin off the hoses which are to large to pass through ultrasonic
cleaner micron filters.
